Nutrition Program

Adequate nutrition plays an important part in maintaining good health. Our nutrition program offers a varied menu each month, provides a well balanced meal, and ensures that 1/3 of the USDA recommended daily requirements are contained in each meal served. We offer both a congregate meal setting and home delivery program.

Congregate Meals

We serve ready-to-eat meals to seniors age 60 and over at six different locations in the county. Congregate sites offer good nutrition, educational presentations, activity and socialization. Suggested donation is $3.75 per meal. Congregate site locations and days lunch is served at each site are as follows:

Home Delivered Meals

Home delivered meals, or "meals on wheels", are available throughout Calumet County to all persons 60 years and older who meet program eligibility. This program brings meals to homebound seniors who can’t prepare daily meals and who can’t get to congregate meal sites because of frailty, illness or disability. Home delivered participants residing in any part of Calumet County can receive meals for up to five days per week. Suggested donation is $4.00 per meal.
